Junior Gold Miners ETF
The Market Vectors Junior Gold Miners ETF (NYSE Arca: GDXJ) is a new gold miners ETF that is considered a long gold ETF that seeks to replicate the investment results of the Market Vectors Junior Gold Miners Index. This is achieved by investing in the shares and ADRs of the gold mining stocks that make up the index. The GDXJ Junior Gold Miners ETF invests primarily in smaller capitalization companies that are either in expletory or early development phase. As such, the companies constituting this gold miners ETF are smaller and riskier than those in the other Gold Miners ETF (NYSE Arca: GDX) also sponsored by Market Vectors. At issuance, the weighted average market capitalization of the index’s constituents was $850 million and had large geographic concentration in Canada 63%, and the USA 22%.
